Ticks can be found in woodland, moorland, long grass or bracken all year round but are more active during spring.

One of our most breathtaking woods, Hackfall, is featured in a new 17 mile walking route that takes in some of North Yorkshire’s beautiful scenery and historic features. The circular route has been recreated by author Mark Reid and follows a original 250 year old route created by William Aislabie through his estates at Studley Royal, Laver Banks and Hackfall.

Why not come along to the consultation for the design of our flagship Diamond wood this Saturday, 31st March? The event is being held at Heather St John’s Football Club between 11am and 3pm.

So far we’ve had a mild January, chilly February and warm March. Sightings from our recorders show evidence of how nature has responded this spring.

The default ‘yes’ to development is removed from the National Planning Policy Framework but a weakness in planning policy means ancient woods and trees are still under threat. Read our response.
